Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) hosted a busy project meeting over the last 3 days in the lovely Poblenou Campus in Barcelona. This meeting comes at a critical time in the life of the project when much of the planned triangulation work comes to the fore and the various research teams prepare and submit their scientific findings to relevant journals and conferences. It was also a really useful opportunity to discuss the various insights and findings that can be made by the team.

In order to better tailor our work to the needs of our different stakeholders, the CS Track team led a series of focus group discussions in September. These focus groups directly involved over 30 people coming from different stakeholder communities including policy-makers and officers, platform and support agency representatives, people interested in CS from an educational perspective and CS project leaders, participants and researchers.

The Crowd4SDG project team are organising a panel discussion entitled “Unleashing the potential of Citizen Science Data for monitoring the SDGs” for National Statistical Offices and Systems that will take place on 27 May 2021 at 14:00 – 16:30 CET. The panel is organised by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), which is a partner in the EU-funded Crowd4SDG project, to share the results of the Crowd4SDG report developed with the guidance of the Advisory Group on how to leverage citizen science data for monitoring the SDGs using both “active” and “passive” approaches, as well as what quality assurance criteria to consider.

Organised jointly by BRITEC with Scientix, AmgenTeach, CS Track and the STEM Alliance, the 2021 STEM High Level Event “Bringing Research Into the Classroom” will offer two days, 20 and 21 May, of online conferences and interactive sessions with researchers and representatives from universities, schools, and industries. On Friday, 21 May, our partners from the University of Jyväskylä and Universitat Pompeu Fabra will present initial results from the CS Track survey.
