On May 2, 2022 our team members Michael Strähle and Christine Urban (Wissenschaftsladen Wien – Science Shop Vienna) chaired the session Inclusion and Exclusion in Citizen Science and presented a paper on this topic at STS Graz 2022. The session included presentations of the first results of the Horizon project CoAct on Citizen Social Science and of art-practice methodologies for citizen science on biodiversity monitoring, discussed the public for personalised medicine in Denmark and families as an essential factor in building and analysing engagement in Citizen Science, and, finally, Christine and Michael explained why there is no straightforward answer to the question as to how Citizen Science activities can be inclusive – and if they have to be.
